(Source – Miniature from Zubdat al-Tawarikh (ca. 1580), an Ottoman survey of world history by Seyyid Loqman Ashuri. It shows, from the centre: the ancient planets (the Moon with a mirror; Mercury as a scribe; Venus with a dulcimer; a haloed Sun; Mars as a warrior; Jupiter as a worthy; Saturn as an ascetic), the signs of the Zodiac in a clockwise order, the Moon’s phases in an anti-clockwise order aligned with the Mansions of the Moon.)

It reigns the domain situated between 12º51’27” and 25º42’52” Libra on the astrological circle.

It is named Acubene, Alcibene, Aiabene, Azubene, Azebone, and Ahubene in the tradition of Renaissance, Al-Zuban or Al-Jubanah by arabic authors and Chambalia by coptic greek astrologers. The arabic astrologers state that this mansion reigns the trade and the release of prisoners, but it is unfavorable to harvests, marriages, partnerships and travels. Adjusting the medieval opinions to present, we can infer that this lunar mansion influences bureaucracy, legislation and legal formalities that slow everything down, the separation processes, the litigations in general and the insurances.

From the magical point of view and according to Agrippa, the sixteenth mansion influences the economic losses from agriculture, the divorces and the quarrels. During this domain or mansion some people make talismans and destructive spells for the drought, poverty, ruin and discord, therefore it’s good to know that during this house we must be protected as best we can.

The sufi mystic, Ibn Arabi, states that this mansion is corresponding to the Sphere of Mercury or the Sixth Heaven, the celestial home of the great prophet Isa (the Islamic religion thus reminds the one called Jesus Christ by Westerners and Yeshuah Bar Yosef by Jews). The divine attribute or name that reigns this mansion is “The numerator”, expressing the orderly and judgmental nature of God and the corresponding letter from arabic kabbalah is Ta (T sound accentuated).

The Sun in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a person characterized by practical wisdom, careful observation and subtle action. The native is a person full of vitality, of extraordinary health, but who is not lucky in love and business.

The Moon in the Sixteenth Mansion shows an isolated native, generally cautious with those around him, calculated and always attentive to what is happening. He has a suspicious nature and few people manage to earn his trust. He tends to observe, understand, and take action in silence. He will have problems and quarrels with women, especially those older than him, and possibly a total breakup of family from an early age, in search of independence.

Mercury in the Sixteenth Mansion shows an inconsistent, subversive person, morally promiscuous and with a great deal of persuasion and special communication skills. He has a manipulative nature and knows how to engage in a quarrel when he can take advantage of it. The native will have legal or juridical difficulties, and his actions will be considered on the legal periphery.

Venus in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a person with many problems in the emotional sphere. He continually puts his affective life on the second plan and this will bring him many losses that he will realize only when it is too late. In relationships things are going well just at the beginning, following the decline. Lack of communication and superficiality can be fatal to a marriage, and the relationships with the opposite sex will be increasingly lacking in charm.

Mars in the Sixteenth Mansion determines a dishonest and unrefined behavior, a frustrated and sometimes even violent person, either physically or verbally. The native lacks sensitivity, is direct and without manners, rarely thinks of those around him and has a social life limited only to individuals like him. Through his behavior he invites disturbances, excess, laziness and vice in his life. He has often disputes with brethren or superiors.

Jupiter in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a good social situation, but prone to scandals and slander. The native can be easily defamed, as he is extremely attached to the image he created. He will have problems with the father or managers in the first half of life, and financial, legal and health problems in the second half.

Saturn in the Sixteenth Mansion shows a slow, melancholic, ponderous native, without much to say. He is not standing out with anything, he is dull and antisocial, he lacks constructive concerns completely, but he is an intense thinker and a very good observer. The poverty will be brought on by the lack of interest in work and the lack of determination.

Uranus in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a retired and uncomplaining native, but with a great passion for technology and electronics. He often takes refuge in the virtual worlds, while avoiding real problems. He is passionate about occultism and spirituality, but he is too negligent to carry out such work. He wants everything ready and is extremely critical of those who can not give him everything he wants without having earned his rewards.

Neptune in the Sixteenth Mansion shows a changing, capricious person, extremely selective but lacking a solid scale of values or criteria. His selectivity is childish, based on transient reasons and hasty judgments. He has fixed ideas, especially regarding organized religion or any type of group thinking. He is critical, but he lacks the skills necessary for a constructive criticism. He doesn’t know what he wants, but he wants it nonetheless. He does not know where he belongs, but he often ridicules those who claim that figured this out. He has problems with the established representatives of divine authority, such as priests, theologians or old counselors.

Pluto in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a fluctuating person who can easily fall prey to fierce negativism. He is undecided, full of contradictions, he assumes a lot of things based on half assumptions, acting firmly convinced that they are real. He needs authority, but at the same time he wants to always be right and to have the last word. He tends to impose its personal vision as dogma, disdaining those who disagree with it or placing them at the opposite pole of his opinion.

Lilith in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates an extremely difficult, possessive, selfish and contradictory nature. The native hardly finds a partner, and the relationship is always marked by suspicion, malice and dependence. He is ruthless and can do a lot of things to get what he wants. He has a vengeful nature, but this makes him vulnerable to the revenge of those he has hurt.

The North Node in the Sixteenth Mansion shows that the purpose of the present native’s life is to learn the value of obstacles, from an pregressive point of view. The present life is one of a turning point, with special meanings for the evolution of his spirit. His patience is tested and he must accept the divine trials with humility and patience, never losing his faith. His situation may be best expressed by Job’s parable.

The South Node in the Sixteenth Mansion indicates a soul that in previous lives had many obstacles in the way of carrying out projects, whether they were emotional, social or financial. The punishment for his own deeds from other existences was passed and now he has started with new duties and new lessons. He has a broad self-agency but he has to manage it very carefully.
