(Source – Miniature from Zubdat al-Tawarikh (ca. 1580), an Ottoman survey of world history by Seyyid Loqman Ashuri. It shows, from the centre: the ancient planets (the Moon with a mirror; Mercury as a scribe; Venus with a dulcimer; a haloed Sun; Mars as a warrior; Jupiter as a worthy; Saturn as an ascetic), the signs of the Zodiac in a clockwise order, the Moon’s phases in an anti-clockwise order aligned with the Mansions of the Moon.)

It reigns the domain situated between 17º08’37” and 29º59’59” Virgo on the astrological circle.

It is named Achureth, Achmech, Arimes, Azimeth, Azimel Albumech, Alcimech and Alcheymech in the esoteric tradition of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Al-Simak by arabic authors and Abukia by coptic greek astrologers. The arabic astrologers state that this mansion is favourable for the start of travels, partnerships, engagements and marriages. They even say, to our surprise, that a marriage with a virgin will not be lasting, but rather one with a “sinful woman”.

From the magical point of view and according to Agrippa von Nettesheim, the fourteenth mansion reigns the love and marriage, but also the healing of the suffering. During this domain or mansion some wizards make talismans for marriages or divorces, but also for obtaining the love and friendship of others, for destroying crops and for successful travel by sea.

The sufi mystic, Ibn Arabi, states that this mansion is corresponding to the fourth heaven, the Solar Sphere, the spiritual residence of Patriarch Idris (considered the same as Enoch or Hermes Trismegistus). The divine attribute of this mansion  is “The Light” and the corresponding letter from arabic kabbalah is consonant N or Noun.

The Sun in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a person who knows how to appear pleasant regardless of the circumstances. The native possesses a tempered charm, not exaggerated or disturbing, but also not one that can be easily overlooked. He makes friends easily, is open, social, friendly and sincere. Although it is not meant for him to have a great destiny or an important position, it will enjoy the influence of greater people and the friendship of the lofty people. He is seductive, but well-behaved, and in relationships he is faithful, however, inconsistently. He may have a successful marriage, a happy marriage based on fidelity, sincerity and mutual devotion.

The Moon in the Fourteenth Mansion shows a difficult, oscillatory character. The native leans either toward a comfortable happiness, or towards constant bouts of melancholy. He is unhappy with himself and eventually with those around him, he is critical and self-critical, and sometimes he regrets his sincerity. He is an analytical, intellectual, rational, thoughtful man, but in the Moon’s unfavorable side is, the native can be caviller, quarrelsome, grumpy and forever dissatisfied. However, some natives with this aspect have a special gift in esotericism, being born with extrasensory abilities or with a great talent in divining arts.

Mercury in the Fourteenth Mansion shows an indecisive man, lacking initiative, ambivalent, sometimes even hypocritical or two-faced, if Mercury is represented by its unfavorable side. He thinks a lot and rarely reaches a satisfactory result. He is extremely cautious and never goes into something without first analyzing all possible outcomes, even the least likely ones. Unfortunately, this caution can be more inclined towards exaggerated worries, he can see risks and threats everywhere, culminating even with paranoid states.

Venus in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a loving, devoted, sincere and affectionate person. The native lives for relationships, and hardly resists being alone. His charm makes him irresistible to the opposite sex, and has a very pronounced personal magnetism. From the unfavourable side, Venus determines lasciviousness, lust, perversity, depravity, falsehood and adultery.

Mars in the Fourteenth Mansion determines a contradictory behavior, especially in the emotional area. The native sometimes thinks excessively without acting, and when he acts he does it hastily. Also, they act in a hurry, passionately, so that they have endless pricks of consciousness after that. He tends to listen to others and do things more for the sake of the bravado or to prove himself. He goes from pleasant and comfortable states to restless and nervous states, he is contradictory in his thinking and often seeks new paradoxes that he can manifest.

Jupiter in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a good man, friendly, sociable, philanthropic and altruistic. He provides his services hastily at the price of his own loss. It is the sign of an excellent partner in a long-term relationship, a good husband and a wonderful father. He can bring many joys to those around him, whether it is to provide the means of living or the spiritual things he has to offer. He is constantly surrounded by loved ones, which brings joy to both himself and them.

Saturn in the Fourteenth Mansion shows a person who analyzes, thinks, observes and learns from his own mistakes. He is a lonely and withdrawn person, without any great success in sentimental relationships or social ones. He reads a lot, delves into study, meditates and philosophizes. Although his youth is spent accumulating and being avoided by those around him, at the old age he gains the respect and obedience of the community, being seen as an important and learned person, who passed through many experiences. It could be said that for the native, old age is the one desired, not the youth, and only in the autumn of life does he find the joy of being useful to others.

Uranus in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a native with strong intellectual and philosophical leanings. He may be a first-hand scholar with international recognition, or a respected, self-taught scholar, valued in his community. He is attracted to mathematics, physics, natural sciences, economics, sociology, and in the occult area he can experiment with astrology and numerology.

Neptune in the Fourteenth Mansion shows a person with a great passion for water. People under this sign get to work in communities related to sea surface or sea life, such as sailors, explorers or marine biologists. They love the sea, but sometimes they can be just as whimsical and changeable as the sea is. They may neglect their personal or family lives in favour of their professional lives, but they will have enormous satisfaction following their passion. They are usually very sensitive, they take everything tragically and for them the criticism of others is the biggest enemy. They prefer not to hear it and take refuge in his own world rather than to deal with unpleasant elements.

Pluto in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a prudent and thoughtful native, always undecided. For him every choice is a terribly important one, he thinks and worries a lot. He is capricious, strange and sarcastic, a very difficult person in social or sentimental relationships. He is very demanding with those around him or with his partner, only to notice later that he himself does not know exactly what he wants. He has a special charm, but it is often misunderstood, and is sympathetic to many in its eccentricity, but a few really manage to earn him as a friend.

Lilith in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a person deeply connected to sexual pleasures and emotional life. He does not know exactly what he wants, how much he wants or with whom, but he is always looking for an opportunity to play his game. He is seductive, mannered and subtle, but full of desires. He has a sentimental life more than adventurous, an impulsive sexual life, very pronounced and very active, and the tendency to deceive the partner due to his instability.

The North Node in the Fourteenth Mansion shows that the purpose of the native’s present life is the fulfillment by love. Those born under this sign had, in their previous lives, experiences related more to the ego and affirmation of their personality, and in this life they will seek fulfillment with their boyfriend or girlfriend, husband or wife, to better understand the dual nature of man and his spiritual need to be completed by another half.

The South Node in the Fourteenth Mansion indicates a soul that in previous lives has focused a lot on family or couple life, lived the joys and sorrows of love, its fascinations and disappointments, and is now ready to focus on his own evolutionary line. The experiences of the current’s life will lead him not necessarily to loneliness or desolation, but to a calm solitude that will allow him to love freely and relate with as many people as possible, and not only one.
